{"id":134,"date":"2014-04-14T17:16:50","date_gmt":"2014-04-14T16:16:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/skadiloist.de\/?p=134"},"modified":"2014-04-14T17:35:50","modified_gmt":"2014-04-14T16:35:50","slug":"queer-film-culture-queer-cinema-and-film-festivals-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/skadiloist.de\/?p=134","title":{"rendered":"Queer Film Culture: Queer Cinema and Film Festivals conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Preparations for the international conference &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerfilmculture.org\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Queer Film Culture: Queer Cinema and Film Festivals<\/strong><\/a>&#8221; are already underway.\u00a0 The conference is generously supported by the K\u00f6rber Funds Nachwuchsforschung at the University of Hamburg and will take place 14-15 October 2014 in conjunction with the 25th <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lsf-hamburg.de\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lesbisch Schwule Filmtage Hamburg | International Queer Film Festival<\/a> (14-19 October 2014).<\/p>\n<p>This two-day international conference hosted by the University of Hamburg, taking place during and in conjunction with the Hamburg International Queer Film Festival will bring together film and festival studies scholars, critics and festival programmers to discuss these issues. Two keynotes delivered by <strong>Prof. B. Ruby Rich<\/strong> (University of California, Santa Cruz) and <strong>Dr. Marijke de Valck<\/strong> (University of Amsterdam) will frame the conference and bring together the fields of film festival studies and queer cinema. In three panels we will approach Queer Film Culture from various angles. In a first panel, festival scholars will present current research on LGBT\/Q film festivals. In a second panel, festival programmers will discuss the current tasks and challenges of LGBT\/Q film festivals.
